Dog TV - The Future?

A new Cable Channel is starting up out west in Santa Barbara called Dog TV. It has programming designed for dogs to watch while their owners are away - I was surprised to hear of the amount of content produced, and that it runs 24/7. Pictures and content are edited for better visualization and perception by dogs, and programming focuses on either relaxation, stimulation or exposure.

While this is interesting, at the end of the day I think most owners would be better served spending quality time with their pets when together. Walks, training, play, exercise and work - all these things will provide a much richer life for a pet. A well balanced mix of physical activity and mental challenges can provide great results in developing happy and calm dogs.
