Microchipping Reunites Dog With Owner After 3 Years
This family got it's dog back after being gone for 3 years. I thought there were a couple of important points to share here....
First, someone found the dog when it first ran away but never had the dog scanned to see if it was chipped. If you find a lost dog, be a good citizen and get it scanned!
Second, the dog originally ran off after a rabbit or something, breaking through an invisible fence. While invisible fences can be a good solution for some situations, they do have some drawbacks. In this case, with a dog having strong prey drives, they can be inadequate. They also do nothing to keep other animals out, children out, and dognappers at bay.
