Help for Morgan County Animal Control and Humane Society
In an email this date....
Dear Ohio Dog Friends,
Columbus Dog Connection has been assisting the Morgan County Animal Control and Humane Society. You may have seen news about major changes there over the last few months. It has been long overdue, but the dogs in Morgan County now have a fighting chance for a happily ever after. (Morgan Co is the 3rd county, southeast of Franklin Co).
Recently, both Petco and Pet People have been instrumental in donating major amounts of supplies to Morgan Co. Greg at Petco Lennox and Trish at PetPeople have gone above and beyond what we asked to help get this tiny county off to a great new start. D Searcy, Debbie Darnell and Karen Skilken have also worked very hard for donating/collecting needed supplies.
For pictures & more details...and to see a picture of a pooch named Cecelia who will melt your heart, visit this link on our site http://www.ColumbusDogConnection.com/Dogmanity.htm
The note you see below is from Lillian, Humane Society President. Lillian works closely with Tammy, the new dog warden. Their greatest need at this time is a vehicle to work more efficiently for the homeless dogs.
If everyone I send this to can stick a $5 bill in the mail...this will get them to their goal and have that truck on the road by next week.
I know we are constantly asking for adoptions, donations and help, but this $5 will make all the difference to a county that has been suffering for so many years. Imagine if we could take the burden off of them to raise the final $1200 just by sending an email.
Thanks for your consideration.

ps...please forward to anyone you think may assist-----------------------------------------------------------
The Morgan County Humane Society has been rebuilding from the ground up after years of inactivity. We acquired control of the county dog pound in May 2008. Our close working relationship with the new county dog warden is a key to the progress we have made in a few short months.
This county has never had appropriate and humane means to transport animals. Thanks to the generosity of the Humane Society Serving Clark County we will have a free animal transport unit worth close to $5000. All we needed was the truck to load it on and a local dealership was interested enough to offer us a superior deal on a 2003 truck in excellent condition but we have to move fast. They can't hold the truck forever.
Everything has happened very quickly and we have been scrambling to get the funds raised for this vehicle that will play such a huge factor in our plans to improve the lives of Morgan County's dogs. We'll be able to transport for spay/neuter, move dogs to other rescue facilities, and take humane education programs to the schools. The truck also serves as a visible symbol of a new community commitment and pride for taking care of its dogs.
We will be grateful to everyone for any contribution toward purchasing this vital necessity for the hard work ahead of us.
