Helping Our Dogs in Combat
The following help request was received from the International Association of Canine Professionals - of which I'm a member. If you'd like to do something to help the dogs helping our country over the coming weeks, please read on. All contributions must be received no later than July 11, 2008.
Independence Day Military Care Packages
Please let our troops know we are thinking about them.
All donated items will be packaged in a gift bag including a note of thanks and sent to the military K-9 handlers with a special gift for their K-9 partner.
Requested items for Handlers (male & female):
Lotion, lip balm, foot powder, hand wipes, tampons (for wounds)
Books, crossword puzzles, board games, cards, magazines
Calling cards
Pens, pencils, greeting cards, stationary, tape
Powdered drink mixes
Microwavable food, beef jerky, and popcorn
Requested items for Dogs (large breeds):
Rope toys, pull toys (large size)
Collapsible water bowls
Furminators
Nylabone (Souper size) & Kong toys
Retractable leashes (50-70 lb size)
Towels, brushes, shampoo, and baby wipes for paws*Please do not send glass! Items must be able to withstand heat.
Monetary donations will be used for shipping, items to fill gift bags, and the purchase of cooling vests for the dogs. Send monetary donations only to:
