More on Ohio Pit Bull Ban - House Bill 568
Last week I posted information on a proposed Ohio Pit Bull Ban. I received an email yesterday from a relative involved with State politics.
She suggested those interested in expressing their displeasure with House Bill 568 go to the page for the State Government and Elections Committee, and send a letter to all members on the list telling them why you oppose the legislation.
All of the members of the committee can receive letters at: Ohio House of Representatives, 77 South High Street, Columbus, OH 43266-0603. The floor number is helpful too.
Those Ohio residents wishing to become more actively involved can write the Chairman and tell him that you would be interested in testifying against the legislation if it receives hearings. You can also check the website weekly to see if it’s scheduled for hearings and try to get on the committee agenda when they are taking opposition testimony.
Also, FYI...
The House tried to wrap up their business for summer last week so it's unlikely this Bill will receive any hearings - but anything can happen. They may be back in session some after the November election. If the legislation doesn’t pass by the end of this year, it would need to be re-introduced next session and would receive a new number.
