Perry County Needs Help!
As an Ohio dog trainer I'm always happy to pass along information like this (received in an email today)...
I'm forwarding a message to offer those who wanted to help the Perry County Humane Society and Jack Price, the Perry County Humane Officer, with items they could use in helping the needy animals they encounter. These are strictly volunteers and, being new at this, they are overwhelmed with all the county needs right now.
I've compiled a Perry County HS "Wish List."
Dog houses - (prefer plastic "Igloo" type for cleaning/disinfecting purposes)
10' X 10' high quality kennels to isolate dogs during quarantine periods
River gravel (approximately 3 truck loads)
Soap, bleach, paper towels
Volunteers to transport dogs and food (currently, have to rent a U-haul to pick of donated food)
5 foot fencing (small gauge) for pens
Straw, cedar chips (bedding) comes in 4 cubic ft. bales
Newer computer (older model needs frequent repairs)
Technical support (volunteer to help with computer, phone line, etc.)
*Voice mail system needs updated
Jack could use a BULLET-PROOF VEST
Catch pole
Certified dog trainers to help work/rehab minor aggressive dogs
It would be most helpful and appreciated if someone could help find property/or building for a shelter
Offers to help with setting up countywide spay/neuter efforts is also appreciatedI'm sure you can think of more things these folks could use but this is a start. Call Jack or Bev at 740-347-4233
